Coming Soon: Direct Air Service from Thunder Bay to Chicago, Illinois
September 07, 2012 by Drake Dill
We have some exciting news for those of you using air service to Thunder Bay, Ontario on your way north on your fly-in fishing trip to Thunderhook Fly-Ins. This July United Airlines announced that they would add a non-stop route with a 50 seat CRJ-200 Jet that departs Chicago at 6PM and arrives in Thunder Bay at 8:40PM. The return flight from Thunder Bay to Chicago departs Thunder Bay at 6AM and arrives in Chicago at 6:35AM. This is great news as many fishermen and women have had to make painful connections through the Toronto air service after Delta Airlines stopped serving the Thunder Bay Airport a few years ago. We will be working with a travel agent soon to create a package fishing trip complete with airfare and limousine transportation right to Thunderhook in Armstrong Station, Ontario. Stay Tuned for More Good News from Thunderhook!Read More
The Moose Hunt is Nearing....
September 04, 2012 by Drake Dill
Well folks, it has been a great summer in Armstrong Station, Ontario at Thunderhook Fly-Ins. We are still extremely busy flying in fishermen and women. One thing that has become extremely popular is the fall fishing and hospitality at the Smoothrock Camp, currently Debbie has around 30 fishermen in camp plus a large group of women. All reports as of today are that the women are outfishing the men and having more fun! On the Thunderhook side, the Dan Larson Party from the MPLS/Twin Cities area just returned from Shab Island a few days ago along with The Swift Party that was staying at Shab South. The fall fishing there was fantastic and many walleyes in the 23"-26" were caught and put back for future generations.Read More
